Mapping Växjö Summer School

On June 19-20 CeLeKT helped run a summer course for girls with the Kommun. We ran a 2-day workshop, the first day all 30 students aged 12-16 played Skattjakt on campus and experimented with GPS devices. The second day we ran a workshop on game design with 10 of the older girls resulting in 2 excellent game concepts, play tested by the groups.

Pervasive Learning 2007 Workshop

Marcelo Milrad co-organized Pervasive Learning workshop at Pervasive 2007, the Fifth International Conference on Pervasive Computing, held May 13-16, 2007 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The annual conference provides a premier forum in which to present research results in all areas related to the design, implementation, application and evaluation of pervasive computing as it integrates into our lives.
The workshop explored learning. We believe that one of the key human activities is learning, an activity that has begun to make its way out of the traditional classroom and, over recent years, find a home on the computer in the form of e-learning. Now, with the background of an evolving mobile infrastructure, learning is increasingly becoming mobile. Our workshop proposed here is intended to discuss the latest mobile learning (M-learning) environments (or pervasive learning) beyond the desktop learning environment, an area of research that is increasingly seeing new developments and techniques in this 'Pervasive' conference.
